André van Bezoojien reveals his vision about the Iberian market

As Adexpo expands into new markets, we sat down with our CEO, André van Bezooijen, to talk about the company’s vision for Spain and Portugal, what makes the Iberian market so unique, and how Adexpo plans to make a difference in the region.
André, what’s your vision for Adexpo in the Spanish and Portuguese markets?
Spain and Portugal are a vibrant, creative region with enormous potential. Our vision at Adexpo is to bring real value to this market through high-quality, flexible furniture rental solutions that support professionals in creating outstanding experiences. We aim to become a strategic partner for designers, agencies, and event organizers who are looking for excellence and distinction. Our goal is to help ensure that every event leaves a lasting impression, no matter its scale or format.
What sets Spain and Portugal apart from other regions where we already operate?
Spain and Portugal have a strong, unique identity — both culturally and professionally. What stands out is the creative mindset, the passion for design, and a deeply rooted event culture. From large international exhibitions to carefully curated corporate and cultural events, there’s a strong focus on aesthetics and experience, here we see a clear preference for quality and impact. That aligns perfectly with what we offer: top-tier products, efficient logistics, and attention to detail that makes all the difference.
We’ve recently opened operations in Spain. How does this impact the service we offer to international clients?
Having a local base in Spain is a strategic move that significantly enhances our responsiveness across the Iberian region. For international clients, it means faster deliveries, access to local inventory, and dedicated support on the ground. It improves efficiency and control, and gives clients peace of mind — knowing that we operate with the same high standards wherever they work with us.
And how do we support those international clients in navigating the local market?
The key is combining global expertise with local insight. At Adexpo, we provide our international clients with more than logistics. Our bilingual teams and well-established local network allow us to act as a true bridge between different contexts. This comprehensive support helps clients feel confident, informed, and well-supported from the first interaction to the final breakdown of the event.
Sustainability is a major topic today. What are we doing in this regard in Iberia?
Sustainability is not just a trend for us — it’s embedded in our business model. Renting furniture already contributes to waste reduction and promotes reuse. But we go further: we work with recyclable materials, optimize transport routes to reduce our carbon footprint, and encourage clients to choose environmentally responsible solutions. We do it because we believe it’s the right thing to do. It’s a win-win for the planet and for the industry.
What challenges have you encountered during your expansion into this region?
Expanding is never a linear process. One of the biggest challenges has been maintaining our quality standards while growing rapidly. We’ve addressed this by investing in local talent, building strong partnerships, and transferring our culture of operational excellence to every new market. Of course, we’ve also had to adapt to local regulations, working styles, and logistics — but thanks to our Iberian team, these challenges have turned into opportunities for learning and growth.
Looking ahead, what opportunities are you most excited about in the Spanish market?
The exhibitions, congresses, and events market is expanding rapidly in this region — especially in the corporate, cultural, and experiential sectors. We see great potential in further expanding our product range, introducing new solutions, and deepening our collaborations with designers and event professionals. Our ambition is not just to be a supplier, but to act as a true creative and operational partner for those shaping the future of events in Spain & Portugal.
Finally, any advice for companies looking to grow or succeed in Spain and Portugal?
My advice is simple but essential: listen, adapt, and build trust. In Spain and Portugal, personal relationships matter deeply, and they are the foundation of long-term collaboration. You need cultural sensitivity, flexibility, and a real commitment to delivering quality. If you connect with people and consistently add value, opportunities will come. The area is full of talent and energy — it’s a region well worth investing in.
