Messe Berlin is an exhibition location in the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf district of Berlin on Masurenallee opposite the Haus des Rundfunks. Since 2011, they are officially known as “Berlin ExpoCenter City” and are managed by the company Messe Berlin GmbH. The building, built in 1936-37, comprises 26 halls with an area of 160,000 m2, including Funkturm Berlin. The halls are connected by a bridge to the Internationales Congress Centrum Berlin. Berlin’s trade fair tradition dates back to 1822 where the first individual markets and individual fairs combined to form a comprehensive trade fair. The earlier Berlin trade fair locations were in the city and changed frequently. Around 1930, other buildings such as Haus des Rundfunks were added to the current fair building.

During the war, the fairgrounds and the Germany Hall were destroyed and reconstruction of the exhibition center began in 1946. In the 1970s, 6 new exhibition halls were added. And over the years it has continued to expand. To the south is the CityCube Berlin, an exhibition and conference hall opened in 2014 and built on the land of the former arena of the Deutschland halle, which replaced the functions of the ICC.
Meanwhile, Messe Berlin consists of 4 different locations: Berlin ExpoCenter City, +palais. Berlin, CityCube Berlin and Hub27 Berlin.
