In 1971, the first Busworld fair began in Kortrijk, Belgium. Here bus manufacturers wanted to offer potential customers information about their buses. Companies active in bus transportation could come to the fair for information and to place possible orders. With this concept, Busworld became the first and the largest trade fair where one could trade in buses. From 2001, an internationalization started. In 2017, the fair took place for the last time in Kortrijk. For the 2019 edition, a contract was signed with Brussels Expo. The fair will be divided into three sectors: coach and bus manufacturers, accessories, public transport and tourism. Environmental issues are also on the agenda. Several conferences on topics of interest to bus and coach manufacturers and operators will be held during the course of the exhibition. The six-day exhibition features 376 exhibitors from 36 countries and it is visited by just over 37,000 visitors from 118 different countries.
