The fair was first organized in 1902 and was called the “Automobile and Bicycle Show”. It took place in the Parc du Cinquantenaire in Brussels and had to compete with a similar initiative of the Union Auto Véloce in the Central Halls. Louis Mettewie is seen as the spiritual father of the fair.
